ROUTE 464
NEW ADDINGTON - TATSFIELD
IntroductionThe 464 operates between New Addington Tram Stop, and Tatsfield, which is a tiny little village in the middle of nowhere. It’s served by two bus routes, and the 464 makes up half of that. The other is an infrequent link to Oxted station. The 464 is one of the most rural bus routes in London, and also one of the most dependable. It is for many without a car, the only way to get out, and into London without paying rail fares from stupid Oxted "I'm so special that I don't need to be in London" station. God I hate arrogant stations...
But I digress. The 464 idea was originally conceived as a commercial route in 1998, operated by Metrobus. It was then brought into the London Buses tendering system in 2000, awarded to Metrobus. Since the Metrobus award, the route has been using MPDs, which are still currently found on the route. The usual allocation is formed of either an Esteem, Dart or both. You know what MB's allocations are like... |
